Komoro Japanese Dining was one of the first restaurants to offer authentic Japanese food here in the Philippines.  The restaurant chain originated from Tokyo and has been in SM Megamall since 1992. Yes! That long. I think we can say that they already know how to satisfy their customers.

Gyoza
Gyoza

This is not the first time I visited Komoro. And every time, I always have a plate of their bestselling side dish Gyoza (Php 82.00 for 5 pieces). I love the crispiness of the charred part of it. I also like its taste – not too salty.

Komoro Japanese Dining’s Must-Try Dishes

Niku Soba
Niku Soba

One of their must-try dishes is the Niku Soba (Php 126.00). “Niku” literally means “meat” in Japanese. As for this bowl, they used strips of beef.

The soup was appealing and I’m sure most of their customers love it. The noodles were firm while the beef were so soft. However, the beef strips was not tasty.

For all variants of their Soba, except for Niku Soba, they can serve it either hot or cold depending on your preference. They always serve Niku Soba hot.

Kaki Age Soba
Kaki Age Soba

One of the other variants is the Kaki Age Soba (Php 110.00). For this bowl, the meat was replaced with vegetable and seafood tempura. If you’re a fan of tempura, this bowl is definitely for you.

Komoro Japanese Dining's Katsudon
Komoro’s Katsudon (with Scrambled Egg)

My favorite from all their dishes is Katsudon (Php 105.00). It is a bowl of rice topped with pork cutlet and egg. It is scrumptious! I love the taste of the combination of the egg and pork.

What I didn’t like about it was that the egg was not fluffy. It’s just a preference and did not really affect much the experience. The egg, by default, is not scrambled. If you preferred it scrambled, you should tell it at the cashier as you order.

The Verdict

Komoro Japanese Dining’s dishes are very affordable and have above standard quality. This place is perfect for quick casual dining moments.
